Official rules and criteria for team selection in ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2026
Performance-Based Quota
The quota for each university will be decided based on their performance in recent ICPC Dhaka Regional Onsite Contests.

Team Selection Process
If the quota for a university is X, the top X teams (based on ranking in the ICPC Dhaka Regional Preliminary Contest 2026) from that university will qualify for the ICPC Dhaka Regional Onsite Contest 2026.
Teams are selected strictly based on their preliminary contest ranking within their university.
Maximum Team Limit
The total number of teams from a university (combining clauses 1, 2, 3, and 5) cannot exceed Eight (8) teams.
All-Girl/Female Team Quota
2 Reserved Slots
For all-girl/female teams
These teams will be selected after the teams under the default quota have been finalized. If an all-girl/female team qualifies under the default quota, it will not count toward these two reserved slots.
Conditions for Reserved Slots
University Diversity
The two teams must be from two different universities/institutes.
Minimum Performance
Each selected team must have solved at least two (2) problems in the preliminary contest.
Ranking-Based Selection
Teams will be selected based on their contest ranking.
No Double Counting
If a university already has an all-girl team qualified under the default quota, it cannot receive an additional slot under this quota.
Host and Special Quota
Host University Quota
IUBAT (Host University)
As the host university, IUBAT will receive Eight (8) slots for the regional contest.
Previous Host Recognition
Special Allocation for Past Contributors
Universities that have previously organized the ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest and ICPC World Finals will receive an additional slot in recognition of their contribution.
Steering Committee Discretion
Authority to Increase Quotas
The Steering Committee reserves the right to increase the quota for any university based on exceptional past performance or other justified reasons.
Override Authority
Such decisions may override the rules mentioned above and may increase the total number of participating teams.
Exceptional Performance
Universities with outstanding historical performance in ICPC may receive additional consideration.
Important Note: All decisions made by the Steering Committee are final and will be communicated officially to the affected universities.
New Universities Quota
Universities that did not participate in the Dhaka Regional Onsite Contests of 2024 and 2025 may receive at most one (1) team slot, based on their preliminary contest performance.

- Participated in 2026 Prelim
Minimum Requirement
At least one problem solved in the preliminary contest.
Welcome to New Participants!
This provision encourages new universities to participate in ICPC and provides them an opportunity to compete at the regional level. Performance in this year's contest will contribute to future quota calculations.
